DIA's Heinous Blue Mustang Has Got To Go

I have been offended with the "Demon Mustang" since it was erected. I personally think that it is an eyesore and cannot believe that the taxpayers had to pay for it. I was happy to hear, this week, on 7 News that there is a blog site dedicated to getting rid of the horse.

"Is anyone else as mortified and offended by DIA's 32 foot fiendish blue "Mustang" statue as I am?

"Does anyone else find it to be the least welcoming public art exhibit imaginable?

"Are you perturbed by the chilling fact that Luis Jimenez, its creator, was killed by a piece of its torso?

"Please join! Ask your friend to join!

"I mean really, it would be nice to feel some sense of pride and dignity when traveling to and from the airport."

On the other hand I am perfectly okay with they Big Blue Bear at the convention center. He is whimsical and cute.

HOLY CRA*!!! I had NO idea!! When did they put that up? Obviously after we moved. We move and the whole state goes to pot!!! SHEEEEEESH!!!

I think the worst part is that you said your tax dollars paid for it!!!! I think they should put another cute bear in its place!!!!!

With you too but I'm also one of those that thinks the design of the airport itself is stupid and an eyesore. We must have moved after the horsie was put in place. Gee-wiz, what they call art these days (well, what is called art throughout history in another argument)

I, too, love the Big Blue Bear!

I, too, HATE the hideous blue horsey with the glowing red devil eyes.

Maybe if they painted it white? And put green lightbulbs in the eyes? Maybe what we need is change, not total anhilation.

I caught that on the news the other day, and Abi comment "that's that THING at the airport" - and on further investigation, that thing is also why she doesn't like horses anymore. (And I believe she's only been to the airport one time.)

Hideous!
What where they thinking!

I love It
Because there is a meaning to the statue more then just of the creator getting killed by it and the family and friends helping to finish it.as far as i know no tax money has been used to finish the statue but i think the mustang represents usa the once free country(Mustang) now Been Totaly Messed up(Look u can c its ribs comin out the red Hate Filled eyes and the harsh look with its hair stickinout )Totaly represents Usa beein controlled by the military industrial complex;wall street banker, financiers Company CEOs,Heck the president is only a puppet and beneficiary from these above Main street is gone People live in fear terrified daily with Bull News Tellin them this and that just not whats important
THE MUSTANG IS PISSED,TERRIFIED,STARVIN Makin one last Stance Against Its Dominators it represents THE PEOPLE OF Usa(even the world) Sadly Its Maker wont live to c that
may peace b with ya n may god bless yall each personaly as far as u confirm n find the inner justice and truth

i think its funny, honestly. As far as i know no one has been hospitalized because of demon-horse trauma, so why take it down? its a mustang not the devil! i say give it a good laugh!

I think you guys are overreacting. I mean sure it's creepy looking but come on a simple paint job would make it into a beautiful work of art that all could enjoy, there is NO need to take it down!

I think that it looks great! I noticed that the only people that complain about it are women for some reason.... how could people be offended by a.... horse?

I am with the more sane people on this site. It's just a statue, who really cares. I am so sick of people getting so riled up about such little things such as this. I think you overly offended people need to step back and ask yourselves a couple of questions: 1) "Is this causing physical harm to me or any one around me"
2) "Is this situation that I am presented with unconstitutional?"
3)" Why is my head so far up my ass that I have grown so distance from the real world? Are there not much bigger problems to confront than a stupid blue statue that I hardly ever see?".
I guess what I am trying to say is why are you wasting your time with this ridiculous stuff when you could just as easily attack real problems, and remember freedom of expression is something that should never be violated just because some one thinks that what is expressed isn't "attractive".

The hypocritical should ask yourselves a couple of questions:

1) "Is this blog post causing physical harm to me or any one around me"
2) "Is this blog post that I am presented with unconstitutional?"
3)" Why is my head so far up my ass that I would make insulting comments on a personal blog expressing an personal opinion regarding a public work?".

I guess what I am trying to say is why are you wasting your time with this ridiculous stuff when you could just as easily attack real problems, and remember freedom of expression is something that is also permitted to the general public, not just artists.
